He heard from some of those people who said they regretted missing the Rochester event. Many of the people interested in drag brunch performances go out of town to attend them. Holding drag brunches here was something being explored for Rochester but managers were uncertain how it would be received. The Crave location in Minneapolis regularly holds drag brunches. “Rochester doesn’t really have a history of that,” Winter said. It’s an understandable assumption, Winter added. “There’s been this perceived sense that Rochester is a conservative town without queer-centric events going on,” said Julie Winter, founder and board member of Rochester Pride. The December brunch, a success with little lead time, appears to be a catalyst in what was a chicken and egg situation for LGBT-centered events in Rochester. “I think it’s opened a lot of minds and hearts and pointed things in the right direction.” “The whole weekend was amazing,” Zeller said. Zeller said the art opening event and other recent LGBT-focused events have helped create more interest and attendance for such events. The meat was cooked to perfection and the total effect was one of the best burgers I've eaten. And the bun was substantial and held its own without being too dense. There aren't unnecessary gimmicky toppings or additions, rather a smart combination of ingredients that don't overwhelm the meat. I'd also never tried a Wagyu burger and again was tempted by Crave's expansive menu to try this out, too. The presentation is impressive and cocktail itself was delicious. Manhattans are my go-to cocktail and I gave in to the fad and was pleasantly won over by Crave's Smoked Manhattan. I'm normally skeptical about whether kitchens can meet the challenge of burgeoning menus that cover wide-ranging options but I used the occasion to try two fad items. Service was a little brisk owing to the busy evening crowd but professional and smart. The very large dining area is creatively divided so that it feels cozy and intimate. We met a local friend here for a Saturday dinner on his recommendation and it was an all-around success. We were able to make to the play on time because of Victoria's actions. We will go back because of how Victoria handled a tough situation. When our hot food finally arrived the fries and brussel sprouts were not hot. all the tables around us had to wait a long time for hot food.anything cold came out well before hot came out. She said she sure could and took our orders. When a server at the next table dropped off some food we asked her if she could help us. We waited, waited for someone to come to our table. There were a fair share of staff shadowing others. Staff was trying to get to all the tables. When we were sat, we were seated between two tables that were just seated before us. We noticed a good portion of their dining room was closed off. When we go there a line was out the door waiting to get in. Our reservations were at 5:30, we tried calling to say we were running late. If anyone has been out and downtown recently they will find staffing shortages all over.
